Welcome to Mother of All Geeks: A Place for Tech, Leadership, and Lifelong Curiosity
Hi, I’m Maryanne, and welcome to Mother of All Geeks

—a space where technology, leadership, and curiosity collide. Whether you’re here to dive into software engineering insights, career advice, or just geek out about all things tech, I’m thrilled to have you along for the ride.
Why I Started This Blog
Technology has always been a huge part of my life. Ever since I got my hands on my first Mattel Aquarius computer, I was hooked. I wanted to build things, break things, and understand how they worked (sometimes to my own detriment—like the time I turned my braces into a science experiment and nearly gave my dad a heart attack).
Fast forward a few decades, and that same curiosity and problem-solving mindset have shaped my career in software engineering leadership. I’ve spent the past 20 years modernizing legacy systems, leading high-performing teams, and figuring out how to bridge the gap between technical excellence and great leadership.
And that’s what this blog is all about.
I created Mother of All Geeks as a place to share insights, lessons, and ideas—the kind I wish I had when I was navigating my career, tackling new tech challenges, or figuring out how to be a better leader.
What You Can Expect
I’ll be covering a mix of topics, including:
Engineering Leadership – How to build strong teams, mentor engineers, and scale technical organizations.
Technology Trends & Best Practices – AI, cloud computing, DevOps, microservices, and everything in between.
Career Growth in Tech – Navigating promotions, leadership challenges, and continuous learning.
Lessons from the Field – Real-world experiences, successes, and yes, even the mistakes I’ve learned from.
Geeky Side Projects – Because let’s be honest, I can’t resist a good experiment.
AI, AI, AI,AI Have you heard of AI?
And if there’s one thing I know about the tech world, it’s that we never stop learning.
